The Correct Time (Living In 10 Codes 13)

Today is the end of this 10th month of October. This will also be the last entry in this series of looking at radio 10 codes. Because this upcoming weekend is when we here in the United States will turn our clocks back, I saved code 10 – 36, the correct time, for this final entry. A 10 – 36 may be requested to become aware of the time, to check and correct a personal timepiece or to synchronize one’s time with those of his or her associates.
The Bible discusses times and seasons. Some of these times we are to know and others we are not. Some of these times will be soon and some will be far off. God is in control of all time and will make clear to us whatever we need to know.
In several places, Scripture speaks of “now” times. While we may be holding on to the way that things have been, the Lord says, “Do not [earnestly] remember the former things; neither consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:18-19 AMP) We are to synchronize our time with His, and walk in the new. The New Testament references a 10 – 36 for the most important time. “Behold, now is truly the time for a gracious welcome and acceptance [of you from God]; behold, now is the day of salvation!” (2 Corinthians 6:2b AMP) Jesus also referenced this 10 – 36 of now for salvation. “Do you not say, It is still four months until harvest time comes? Look! I tell you, raise your eyes and observe the fields and see how they are already white for harvesting.” (John 4:35 AMP) We who have already experienced His love must not put off telling others of all that Jesus has done for us. Hearts are open and ready to receive Jesus Christ now.
Another example of putting off what God has said to do occurs in the Old Testament. “Thus says the Lord of hosts: These people say, The time is not yet come that the Lord's house should be rebuilt [although Cyrus had ordered it done eighteen years before].” (Haggai 1:2 AMP) The Lord then expresses His displeasure with His people for building their own homes when He had enabled them to build the temple. We must be careful to stay on God’s timetable. We must place His desires above those of our own. There is a correct time for everything that we do.
By the power of the Holy Spirit, people who understand the times are valuable to the body of Christ. In the Old Testament people were noted and respected for this ability. “And of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do, 200 chiefs; and all their kinsmen were under their command;” (1 Chronicles 12:32 AMP) In the New Testament the religious leaders were reprimanded for not recognizing the times. You play actors (hypocrites)! You know how [intelligently] to discern and interpret and prove the looks of the earth and sky; but how is it that you do not know how to discern and interpret and apply the proof to this present time?” (Luke 12:56 AMP) The apostle Paul also spoke to the people who knew the importance of the time they were living in. “Besides this you know what [a critical] hour this is, how it is high time now for you to wake up out of your sleep (rouse to reality). For salvation (final deliverance) is nearer to us now than when we first believed (adhered to, trusted in, and relied on Christ, the Messiah).” (Romans 13:11 AMP) Today we also can be aware of the importance of our times by requesting a 10 – 36 from the Holy Spirit. This can be both for what God is doing on a grand scale throughout the world or what He is doing in our individual lives.
Not always are we to know the exact time. Sometimes when we request at 10 – 36, the Lord will gently tell us that He knows the time and we must trust Him. This can be concerning the end times. “But as the suitable times and the precise seasons and dates, brethren, you have no necessity for anything being written to you. For you yourselves know perfectly well that the day of the [return of the] Lord will come [as unexpectedly and suddenly] as a thief in the night.” (1 Thessalonians 5:1-2 AMP) This can also be regarding specific circumstances in our own lives. Trusting God is the key to all the times of our lives. We can be sure that God always knows the 10 – 36. If we seek him through prayer and His word, He will share the correct time as we need to know it. He will always act at the best time. “While we were yet in weakness [powerless to help ourselves], at the fitting time Christ died for (in behalf of) the ungodly. Now it is an extraordinary thing for one to give his life even for an upright man, though perhaps for a noble and lovable and generous benefactor someone might even dare to die.” (Romans 5:6-7 AMP)

Be sure to check in with the Lord for the 10 – 36 of all the times of your life. Pay close attention in case the Lord moves the clock ahead or behind an hour on you. He still knows the best time.

En Route (Living in 10 Codes 12)

As we near the end of our 10th month look at radio 10 codes, we reached 10 – 76 which is translated as “en route to.” This code is most often used when responding to a location one has been directed to by a dispatcher. Code 10 – 76 allows the dispatcher to know that the directive has not only been heard but is also being immediately followed. 10 - 76 can also relay a location that one is approaching when the dispatcher has given no specific directions.
In the Scriptures, we are given many directions as to where God would have us to go. One of Jesus final statements to his disciples was to, “Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, (Matthew 28:19-20a AMP) He further clarified this directive. “But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.” (Acts 1:8AMP) Jesus made it very clear that those who followed Him would now go out from where they were to tell others about the life He has provided for all.
Is our response to our great dispatcher, the Lord Jesus Christ, and enthusiastic 10 – 76? Are we and route to all who are in our world? In obedient response may be as dramatic as going to a far-off land for a lifetime of mission work. It may also be as simple as going next-door with the container of soup for an ailing neighbor. We can be en-route at any time and to any place.
If we listen carefully to the voice of God, like the prophet Isaiah did, we will hear that He is sending us to speak for Him. “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for Us?” (Isaiah 6:8a AMP) We should be ready with the same response that Isaiah gave, “Then said I, Here am I; send me.” (Isaiah 6:8b AMP) Isaiah was told to go and speak to the people of Israel. God will send us to the people we live among. We may be asked to speak to someone at work, the store, or any other of our daily activities. We may be asked to go to specific people to share His love. Will we willingly obey as Isaiah did?
The Bible gives us an example of someone who chose not to go to the location God was sending him. “Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah son of Amittai, saying, Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and proclaim against it, for their wickedness has come up before Me. But Jonah rose up to flee to Tarshish from being in the presence of the Lord.” (Jonah 1:1-3a AMP) The rest of the book of Jonah describes the unpleasant events that took place after Jonah chose to go the wrong way. (See Jonah chapters 1 – 4) It is never a good idea to be 10 – 76 to a location other than where we have been dispatched.
Ultimately, we are en route to our heavenly home. “For here we have no permanent city, but we are looking for the one which is to come.” (Hebrews 13:14 AMP) With this in mind we can have the same attitude as the apostle Paul. “I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.” (Philippians 3:14 AMP) Along the way our obedience will lead us to help others as we follow the example of Jesus. “How God anointed and consecrated Jesus of Nazareth with the [Holy] Spirit and with strength and ability and power; how He went about doing good and, in particular, curing all who were harassed and oppressed by [the power of] the devil, for God was with Him.” (Acts 10:38 AMP) As we are 10 -76 to heaven we will be en route to assist others and bring them along.
Along with that great dispatch given by Jesus to go into all of the world, there is a promise. “And behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. Amen (so let it be).” (Matthew 28:20b AMP) We will not walk alone as we 10 – 76 all destinations set for us by God. Near or far, we will have Jesus as a constant walking companion.

As God gives you directions today, respond with a willing 10 – 76!

Ever Present Escort (Living In 10 Codes 11)

A call of code 10 – 59 is a call for an escort. According to Webster’s dictionary as escort is defined as 1. A person or group of persons accompanying another to give protection or as a courtesy or 2. Accompaniment by a person or an armed protector (as a ship).
There are many opportunities for escorts to be necessary. Times or events that an escort is appropriate include a person carrying valuables or a witness in a trial. And elderly or disabled person needing to navigate a crowd or pathway may need the assistance of an escort. Danger may await someone famous who requires protection from overzealous fans and adversaries alike. Sometimes a person will not go where directed voluntarily and requires the accountability that an escort provides. At other times there may be a special occasion, such as a wedding, where the courtesy of an escort is proper. This is a wide variety of situations. Yet each one is benefited by the company of someone who comes alongside and travels with them.
I initially thought that we as Christians would be the escort of Jesus Christ in this world. The more I looked into this I have found that it is Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit who escort us through our activities in this world.
As we go about our daily lives we must remain aware that we are carrying a great valuable. “However, we possess this precious treasure [the divine Light of the Gospel] in [frail, human] vessels of earth, that the grandeur and exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from ourselves.” (2 Corinthians 4:7 AMP) We are also to be witnesses of our experience with Jesus. “[We are writing] about the Word of Life [in] Him Who existed from the beginning, Whom we have heard, Whom we have seen with our [own] eyes, Whom we have gazed upon [for ourselves] and have touched with our [own] hands. And the Life [an aspect of His being] was revealed (made manifest, demonstrated), and we saw [as eyewitnesses] and are testifying to and declare to you the Life, the eternal Life [in Him] Who already existed with the Father and Who [actually] was made visible (was revealed) to us [His followers].” (1 John 1:1-2 AMP) We are escorted to the world who needs to hear and see Jesus in us.
The Scripture tells us, “In Him you also who have heard the Word of Truth, the glad tidings (Gospel) of your salvation, and have believed in and adhered to and relied on Him, were stamped with the seal of the long-promised Holy Spirit.” Ephesians 1:13 (AMP) Because we bear the seal of the Holy Spirit, we are known by the adversaries of God. The same adversaries will go after those who are weak or injured. Jesus promised us that regardless of our circumstances, “I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]” (Hebrews 13:5b AMP) In any situation we face, we are never alone because the Lord himself is with us and provides us with His strength.
Sometimes, even children of God will make wrong choices and follow the wrong path. Even during these times, He does not leave us to walk alone. In the parable of the lost sheep, Jesus told of the shepherd leaving 99 behind to find the one who had strayed and bring him back. (See Matthew 18 and Luke 15) Jesus also said, “I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd risks and lays down His [own] life for the sheep.” (John 10:11 AMP) When the enemy attacks and temptation leads us astray, our ever present Savior will be our safeguard. He will take us back to the right path and restore us to His protection.
The joyous time of the most special occasion is yet to come. We can all look forward to the marriage feast of the Lamb. (See Revelation 19) At this great event, we will not only be honored guests but we are a part of that bride. We will walk on the arm of the Lord Jesus Christ forever.

As you go about each part of this life be constantly aware of the presence of our heavenly escort. In every situation allow Him to lead you, protect you and provide stability and joy.

Assistance Please! (Living in 10 Codes 10)

Everyone needs a little help from time to time. A code 10 – 46 signifies a motorist assist. The need for this call can be for any type of vehicular problem. These include simple fixes, such as a jumpstart for a dead battery, the changing of a flat tire or adding water to a dry radiator. It can also mean enlisting help beyond an individual’s ability, such as a needed tow truck or locksmith.
In our daily lives we participate in a spiritual journey. As we travel this earth we may encounter the need for a spiritual 10 – 46. We will also have many opportunities to offer our assistance to others to travel alongside us. Although there are no motor vehicles in the Scripture, we can find great advice and direction for this journey. The Bible is the owner’s manual for each of us. Within its pages we will find the proper ways to assist struggling travelers.
When our energy is waning we may need a jumpstart from the Holy Spirit. “But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.” (Acts 1:8 AMP) Even Jesus relied on the power of the Holy Spirit. “How God anointed and consecrated Jesus of Nazareth with the [Holy] Spirit and with strength and ability and power; how He went about doing good and, in particular, curing all who were harassed and oppressed by [the power of] the devil, for God was with Him.”  (Acts 10:38AMP) When one begins to rely on our own power our batteries run down quickly. Encouragement and prayer are like the jumper cables that we can use to help someone reconnect with the Holy Spirit.
There are obstacles on this journey that can cause us to become injured. Difficult circumstances or harsh words from another can be like a nail on the roadway that causes us to hobble, stumble or even stop. Like a vehicle with a flat tire, one may need to make a change before continuing on. When helping someone in this position it is always good to remember that God directs our path. “A man's mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure.” Proverbs 16:9 (AMP) A word from God illuminates the proper path. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105 AMP)
Serving God without an adequate infusion of God’s presence can cause one to become dry. “My inner self thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and behold the face of God?” (Psalm 42:2 AMP) When one is feeling dry, it is necessary to drink deeply of God’s presence. We must not only spend time listening to God through His word, but we must also worship Him. “But You are holy, O You Who dwell in [the holy place where] the praises of Israel [are offered].” (Psalm 22:3 AMP) God will dwell where praise is offered. When we meet together to praise God we are offering each other a 10 – 46. We encourage each other to praise our Father and drink deeply of His presence.
At times we may encounter a believer that has problems that are beyond our ability to assist. We can encourage and stand beside this weary traveler but we cannot be their answer. We can enlist the help of the Almighty for this one through prayer. When the need is for a tow to bring someone back to the right path, the Holy Spirit is the best driver. He is also the only one who can truly unlock a heart. And when someone’s life seems to be totally broken down and in need of repair, God’s hands lovingly and skillfully put everything back in order.
Many times a code 10 – 46 requires only a few moments help and one is back on their way. In our spiritual lives an assist can be brief and simple yet still have a great impact in spurring us on. Jesus encouraged His followers to be on the lookout for those in need. “And whoever gives to one of these little ones [in rank or influence] even a cup of cold water because he is My disciple, surely I declare to you, he shall not lose his reward.” Matthew 10:42 (AMP) No assist is ever too small.
We need each other. We must be ready to assist and receive assistance. “Two are better than one, because they have a good [more satisfying] reward for their labor; For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!   Again, if two lie down together, then they have warmth; but how can one be warm alone? And though a man might prevail against him who is alone, two will withstand him. A threefold cord is not quickly broken.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 AMP)

As you go about your day look for someone that you can help. Also be ready to call for a 10 – 46 if the need should arrive in your own life and welcome the assistance of your brothers and sisters.

Disregard That! (Living In 10 Codes 9)

When proper etiquette is being used, all radio traffic goes through the base or dispatch center. Whether it is in the transportation industry, the maintenance department or security/emergency services, this is the most efficient method of communication. The dispatcher generally knows where all parties are at any given time. He or she also knows what each individual has been assigned to do. Although others who are on radio may have overheard directions given to their companions, they are not aware of all communiqués, including those that have been relayed in person and via the telephone. Wrong assumptions may be made and direct communication can be the source of misinformation.
When individuals disregard the protocol there is more opportunity for error. An individual does not have the full picture that a dispatcher has. Circumstances may change quickly. Initial information may be incomplete or even incorrect. In these cases the proper radio call will be “10 – 22.” This is a call to disregard.
The best communication for any Christian is always directed and guided through the dispatch center of God’s word and His voice. The Lord Himself has the only clear picture of everything that is going on in our lives and the lives of those around us. When we carefully direct communication through the Scripture and the leading of the Holy Spirit, we will most effectively respond and communicate with each other.
An error in our communication with a fellow believer is often quite innocent. We may truly be excited about something that God has called us to do. In our excitement, we may try to enlist others to join us when God has given them no such direction. It is extremely important that we allow each other to receive our marching orders directly from the Lord, our great dispatcher. When we receive well-meaning suggestions from our brothers or sisters in Christ, we may hear the Holy Spirit telling us to 10 – 22. Joining another for a project which is right for them, may cause us to miss the great things that we have been called to do. We must respond by disregarding these persuasive requests.
The greatest danger comes when receiving directions from an unknown voice. There is opportunity for outsiders to tap into the radio frequency that is being used by a particular group. When this is the case, someone who does not belong can be to begin transmitting harmful information. It is important to verify the identity of anyone you are in communication with. The dispatcher can verify the legitimacy of this person and his or her transmission.
A danger to the body of Christ is that we have an interloper who attempts to communicate misinformation to us every day. “And it is no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light;” (2 Corinthians 11:14 AMP) We can hear the voice of the enemy both in our minds as he pretends to be God or even our own thoughts. His voice may also be heard through false prophets and others who speak negatively and attempt to talk us out of what God has called us to do. It is important to remember that the devil is a liar and he hates every believer. “You are of your father, the devil, and it is your will to practice the lusts and gratify the desires [which are characteristic] of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a falsehood, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar [himself] and the father of lies and of all that is false.” (John 8:44 AMP) Those who repeat his words are lying as well. We must be very careful to 10 – 22 everything he speaks.
These are some examples. The enemy says, “You can’t do that!” God says 10 - 22 that last transmission. The word of God tells us, “I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency].” (Philippians 4:13 AMP) Fear shouts at us to shrink back. 10 – 22! Scripture says, “Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.” (Isaiah 41:10 AMP) Temptation attempts to entice us to engage in sinful practices and we respond, “10 – 22!” “But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God).” (Galatians 5:16 AMP) The lie screams, “You won’t make it through this problem.” 10 – 22 that! “And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 AMP)
There are many more examples that can be given. The key is that we must know the voice of the Holy Spirit, our great dispatcher. He will not speak anything contrary to the Scriptures. When thoughts come into our mind or statements come from others that are contrary to the promises of God, we must quickly and emphatically respond with 10 – 22. We disregard the lies of the enemy and study the promises of God.

Have you been listening and believing any lies lately? Shout out loud 10 – 22! Disregard the lies and live in the truth that you have been set free in Jesus Christ.

Return Please (Living In 10 Codes 8)

Return: verb – to go back or come back again. This is the Webster’s dictionary definition. A code 10 - 19 is translated “return to” and is followed by a location. By nature of the definition, this is a location where the responder has previously been. Now a necessity to return there has arisen.
The concept of returning is prevalent in the Scripture. From the first sin that separated man from God, a plea emanated from the Father’s heart calling His children to return. Through the ages that has remained God’s heart cry to His people. Whenever the heart of the believer strays from Almighty God, He pleads for His child to come back. He waits and watches.
Throughout the Old Testament, prophets pleaded with the nation of Israel to return to their God. “Therefore return to your God! Hold fast to love and mercy, to righteousness and justice, and wait [expectantly] for your God continually!” (Hosea 12:6 AMP) There are similar pleas from Isaiah, Jeremiah, Nehemiah, Joel and many others. God has never given up on His children when they stray. He calls and waits over and over.
Jesus also told the story of the prodigal son. (See Luke 15:11 – 32) The verse that portrays the son’s return truly displays the heart of our heavenly Father when we return to Him. “So he got up and came to his [own] father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was moved with pity and tenderness [for him]; and he ran and embraced him and kissed him [fervently].” (Luke 15:20 AMP) God is watching and will run to us with open arms as soon as we take a step toward Him. He has repeatedly promised to also greet our return by returning to us. “Therefore say to them [the Jews of this day], Thus says the Lord of hosts: Return to Me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you; it is the utterance of the Lord of hosts.” (Zechariah 1:3 AMP)
In the end time prophecy, the Church at Ephesus is praised for enduring hard times for the sake of Jesus. Despite this praise the angel spoke these words, “But I have this [one charge to make] against you: that you have left (abandoned) the love that you had at first [you have deserted Me, your first love].” (Revelation 2:4 AMP) It is not just a matter of serving God, but having a heart full of love for Him. We can continue to live a life doing Godly things while our heart is straying from Him. We must return to our first love with Him.
Where is God? This can be the heart cry of a believer. How can I return if I am not sure where God is? A code 10 – 20 is one’s current location. God has been asked by many believers what is His 10 – 20. God’s word gives us the answer. “But the Lord is in His holy temple; let all the earth hush and keep silence before Him.” (Habakkuk 2:20 AMP) The apostle Paul wrote, “Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own,” (1 Corinthians 6:19 AMP) The temple of God is within us. God is present with us at all times.
God calls to us daily to come away with Him.  Since He is always present, this is not a physical location but a condition of the heart. It does not take long for a heart to stray. Do we always keep check that we focus our love on the Lord and not on worldly distractions? If we catch ourselves becoming more interested in other things it is time to listen to His call of 10 – 19 and return our heart to God. He has promised, “Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13 AMP)
(If you have never asked Jesus to come into your heart, you have not yet become His temple or dwelling place.  Your first step is to invite Jesus to become your Lord and Savior by receiving His death and resurrection as payment for your sins. Come to Him for the first time and experience His presence and a great love relationship.)

If anything other than the Lord has captured you heart, quickly 10 – 19 to Him. His 10 – 20 is as close as your heart. Turn to Him and He will welcome you with open arms.

Urgent Call (Living In 10 Codes 7)

Without proper training and understanding, our next 10 code that can often be overused. A code 10 – 18 means that the call is urgent. When a dispatcher says that the call is 10 – 18, one can be sure that the criteria for urgency has been met. A seasoned officer will also be more familiar with what constitutes an urgent situation. Newer or less experienced personnel may consider many things to be urgent. Although situations may be somewhat important they are not truly urgent.
Webster’s dictionary defines urgent as; calling for immediate attention. Critical, imperative, exigent and necessitous are among the synonyms listed for urgent. Many things may be important, but few things are truly urgent.
As children of God we often approach our Father with many things that we mistakenly consider urgent. What parent has not heard an “urgent” appeal from their child for the most important toy in the world or that must-have ice cream cone. As adults we often confuse the trials in our lives with matters of true urgency. Financial difficulties, health concerns, relational confrontations and many other challenges may be encountered in our lives. We are to bring all of these to the Lord, while continually remembering that He is in control of our lives. Our future is secure in Jesus Christ.
We search after many things that we believe we need. The truth is that there is only one thing that is truly necessary. This is summed up in what Jesus (our true dispatcher) considered to be the greatest commandment. And you shall love the Lord your God out of and with your whole heart and out of and with all your soul (your life) and out of and with all your mind (with your faculty of thought and your moral understanding) and out of and with all your strength. This is the first and principal commandment.” (Mark 12:30 AMP) We are to love God and seek after Him with our entire beings. We do not approach God with a list of things that we think we need from Him. We come to our Lord with a heart full of love ready to do whatever He wishes of us.
King David truly understood this principle. The Psalms are full of many love songs he wrote to the Lord. Among them we find these statements. “One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for, and [insistently] require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty [the sweet attractiveness and the delightful loveliness] of the Lord and to meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple.” (Psalm 27:4 AMP) David understood that this love relationship was mutual. “I am Yours, therefore save me [Your own]; for I have sought (inquired of and for) Your precepts and required them [as my urgent need].” (Psalm 119:94 AMP) He knew that truly seeking and loving God meant that he would follow God’s precepts and receive God’s care. This relationship is a true urgent need.
What do we urgently need today? Do we need more money or a better job? Is time a commodity that we need more of? Do we need friends to overcome our loneliness? One could compose a long list that would be unique to each individual. The truth is that we urgently need more of God in our lives. Whatever we have believed to be an urgent need pales as we truly compare it to the necessity of a vital relationship with our heavenly Father through his son Jesus Christ.
As we faithfully seek out and nurture this relationship with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength, the peace and joy of the Holy Spirit will become evident in our lives. Others will see what we have obtained and want to have it as well. We can be like Jerusalem in the times of the prophet Zechariah. “Yes, many people and strong nations shall come to Jerusalem to seek, inquire of, and require [to fill their own urgent need] the Lord of hosts and to pray to the Lord for His favor.” (Zechariah 8:22 AMP) Many will come to us to find the Lord as they are urgent need.

Look for what is truly urgent. Do not merely seek deliverance from current trials. Seek to truly love God and He will deliver you and love you more than you can imagine.

Disturbance or Fight? (Living In 10 Codes 6)

There are two 10 codes that are fairly similar. At 10 – 15 is a disturbance. This means there has been some type of altercation has occurred.  This may include yelling, name calling, profanity and threatening stances.  It may have even drawn an audience and incited fear and some were around.  A 10 – 10 has escalated from a disturbance and become an actual fight. In order for a call to accurately receive a code of 10 – 10 there must have been physical contact between the involved parties. Whether this is in the form of a punch, a kick or a shove, some type of aggressive physical action must have occurred.
There is sometimes confusion in spiritual matters as to what is a disturbance and what truly constitutes a fight with the enemy. We have been forewarned and actually promised that trials will come into our lives. “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]” (John 16:33 AMP) Most of these, although they may seem intense at the time, are truly just disturbances in our lives. In his letter the apostle James greeted the early churches by telling them, “Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.” James 1:2-3 (AMP) The apostle Peter also wrote, “Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.” (1 Peter 5:8 AMP)
Disturbances will come into our lives and we will grow from them. The above Scriptures go on to tell us to resist the enemy and be faithful to following what we have been taught. We are to walk away from these disturbances and “Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].” (1 Thessalonians 5:18 AMP) When we continue to follow the path the Lord has given us with a heart full of thankfulness, praise and peace, the enemy cannot hold on to us. His taunts will fade away and we will grow strong in the Lord.
The great fight in the spiritual realm is for the souls of men. From the first temptation in the Garden of Eden; to the temptation of Jesus in the desert; to this modern-day; the enemy has fought us with lies. He is a liar and a thief. “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” (John 10:10 AMP) Through deception and crafty tactics, he attempts to prevent or at least hinder a healthy relationship between God and man. These lies question who God is and who we are in relation to Him. By causing us to doubt God and our relationship to Him, the enemy seeks to defeat us from living a life of faith.
This begins with attempts to prevent one from coming into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Doubt and unbelief can prevent us from calling on the name of Jesus. “Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9 AMP) Temptation to the pleasures of this world, doubt, guilt, shame and other lies can all prevent someone from coming to the Father with repentance.
Once we have received Jesus as our Savior, these same lies can prevent us from coming boldly to God for all we need. “For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning. Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God's unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].” (Hebrews 4:15-16 AMP)
In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul warns of our spiritual fight. “For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. Therefore put on God's complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].” (Ephesians 6:12-13 AMP) He lists the complete spiritual suit of armor given us to fight the lies of the enemy; the belt of truth, the best plate of righteousness, gospel shoes, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. (See Ephesians 6) Most of these pieces of armor are defensive. The sword of the Spirit, God’s word, is our offensive weapon to use against all lies of the enemy. We are to study God’s word to be grounded and wear all the armor. To fight back we use the truths that are found in Scripture. For every lie the enemy throws our way there is a promise from God to counter. We must use it well.
Go about your day and face trials and disturbances by praising and trusting God. When battles intensify go on the offensive using the word of God to defeat the enemy. Use God’s word to fight not only your battles but also for the souls of those who do not yet know our heavenly Father.

Please Stand By! (Living In 10 Codes 5)

In response to a request for information or further instructions, one may receive a reply of a code 10 – 12. This is the next 10 code to consider during this 10th month, October. This code indicates that one must “stand by” before a proper response can be given. Waiting never seems to be easy but is often necessary to move forward in the best possible manner. Waiting often allows all things to fall into proper place.
Do you ever feel that heaven seems to be silent and your prayers are being answered repeatedly with a code 10 – 12? The only messages that come is to standby, be patient, not yet or in due season. Having received the initial pieces of a plan from God, we may be ready to hit the floor running. The problem can be that we do not have the direction of where to go or instructions of just exactly what we are to do next. So now the praying, listening and waiting begins or continues depending on where in the process we are. This stage can seem to linger on and on.
There can be many reasons for a code 10 – 12 response from God. One of the primary reasons is that we are not yet ready for this next step. God may be building character within us. God may have plans that we are not yet ready for. Standby times often cause the fruit of the spirit to mature within us. We can learn to patiently wait in a way that allows us to grow in God and develop hope. “Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14 AMP) He will answer us.
Sometimes the wait has nothing to do with us. Other people are intricately involved in our lives and ministry. In order for God’s perfect plan to be worked out, everyone involved must be ready and brought into unity. God will bring all things around, not only for our best, but for the best of all involved. As we wait, we can continue to pray for those around us.
During these times of waiting we must remain faithful. We continue with what we already know that God has called us to do. We believe that hard times will end and we will move forward if we do not quit being faithful. “And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.” (Galatians 6:9 AMP) When we receive a code 10 – 12 transmission, we just keep on keeping on with what we know to do and believe the promise that our “due season” is coming.
At all times we are to look to Jesus. In times of waiting it can be especially important to remember the promises that have been given to us. We can look forward beyond our current situation. Awaiting and looking for the [fulfillment, the realization of our] blessed hope, even the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One),” (Titus 2:13 AMP) As Christians we always have the hope of the return of Jesus and the eternal life ahead of us. Current situations become small in light of this great promise.
Standby carries with it a promise of further communication. God will not remain silent forever. We must remember that and not move forward until we hear from Him. There is much at stake both for us and for others. At just the right moment, and in just the right manner and at just the right place; God will speak and we will joyfully hear His voice. We will rejoice in this promise. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men's hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy], yet so that men cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11 AMP) We will look back and acknowledge that God knows best.

So if you feel that your questions and requests are not being answered, you may be receiving a code 10 – 12 from the Father. This does not mean “no” but simply “not yet.” Keep on with what you know to be right as you patiently, expectantly wait for further instructions.

Can You Repeat That Please? (Living In 10 Codes 4)

A frequently used 10 code is “10 – 9.” This code is a request to repeat the transmission. The primary reasons for a code 10 – 9 include a static filled, unclear transmission or a need to clarify the directive that has been transmitted.
How often do we ask God to repeat His commands to us? This may occur because we want to be clear on God’s plan. We do not want to move forward on what we desire God to do instead of what He has truly said. Hearing accurately is always important.
Sometimes we may ask God to repeat Himself because we cannot or do not want to believe what He has told us to do. The enemy is quick to question God’s truth. Now the serpent was more subtle and crafty than any living creature of the field which the Lord God had made. And he [Satan] said to the woman, Can it really be that God has said, You shall not eat from every tree of the garden?” (Genesis 3:1 AMP) When we do not understand God’s reasons for a command, we may find ourselves listening and agreeing with this question. We must listen to God with an obedient heart even when it we do not understand.
There are many general commands that are often repeated in the Scriptures. These are a few that come to mind.
Give thanks or thanksgiving is mentioned over 120 times in Scripture. There are no exceptions to this command.  Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will]. (1 Thessalonians 5:18 AMP) This leaves no reason that we may choose not to be thankful.
Love is another universal command. The word appears 566 times in the amplified version of the Bible. We are told to love our neighbor, the family of God and even our enemies. Most of all we are to love God. And you shall love the Lord your God out of and with your whole heart and out of and with all your soul (your life) and out of and with all your mind (with your faculty of thought and your moral understanding) and out of and with all your strength. This is the first and principal commandment. The second is like it and is this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these. (Mark 12:30-31 AMP)
Trust or have faith is another predominate command that appears in Scripture repeatedly. We cannot please God without faith. “But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].” (Hebrews 11:6 AMP) We can trust our loving Father in all circumstances.  “Trust in, lean on, rely on, and have confidence in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is a refuge for us (a fortress and a high tower).” (Psalm 62:8 AMP)
Truly trusting God enables us to obey another command, to avoid fear. Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice. (Isaiah 41:10 AMP) God addresses fear often. It is something that an obedient of child of God does not need to give into. Like Joshua we can have courage. Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9 AMP)
We are also told to study the word of God.  Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth.(2 Timothy 2:15 AMP) This will help us to know God’s voice and respond without several 10 - 9 requests. We will be able to recognize His word when we hear it.
These commands and many more have been repeated for our benefit. By looking at Scripture we can be sure that God means what He says. We can actually request a 10 – 9 by looking at all the places God addresses any given topic.

Listen to the voice of the Lord today. You can request a repeat or a 10 – 9. He will not be offended and will gladly confirm His word. Once you have received an accurate command move forward to confidently obey it.

Our Response … (Living In 10 Codes 3)

The codes represented by the past few dates remind me of our frame of mind when we are asked to do something. Code 10–6 means, “I am busy at the current time and cannot take on any new directives.”  Code 10-7 relays “I am not currently in service.” This code is often used when an employee is off duty. When on duty and active for service, the proper response is 10-8. This implies that the responder is ready to carry out whatever instructions are given.
How do these codes apply to our spiritual lives? Our Heavenly Father prompts us through the Holy Spirit to undertake many actions that show His love to hurting people. He also calls us away to spend time alone with Him. How we respond to these promptings is critical to our spiritual health.
What is the result of a reply of 10-6 to the Lord? Can we ever tell God that we are too busy to obey His Word to us? Jesus told a parable of a man who held the feast and invited many to come. (See Luke 14:15-24) Many of these people were too busy. The excuses were reasonably responsible things to do, but the man was nonetheless angered and filled their spots with others. God knows what is on our daily agenda at any given moment. If He interrupts our schedule, we must not reply10-6. It is never suitable to be too busy for God. Like the man in the parable, God will find another to assign the task and receive His blessings.
Some who have served God in the past have actually walked away from this service. They have gone 10-7 and do not even listen or respond to God’s call. This can happen for many reasons including temptation to worldly things, discouragement and being hurt by other believers. Whatever the reason is, we must guard against this 10-7 condition at all costs in our lives.
Scripture tells us how to relate to fellow servants of the Lord who struggle. If sin has drawn someone away; we are to follow this pattern of reconciliation. If your brother wrongs you, go and show him his fault, between you and him privately. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother.” (Matthew 18:15 AMP) Further instructions follow if he or she does not listen. (See versus 16-17) We must always respectfully approach privately first. Went someone is disillusioned and in despair, we are to encourage them with the Scriptures.Speak out to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, offering praise with voices [and instruments] and making melody with all your heart to the Lord,” (Ephesians 5:19 AMP) If we have offended a brother or sister we must make it right before we can serve God properly. “ So if when you are offering your gift at the altar you there remember that your brother has any [grievance] against you, leave your gift at the altar and go. First make peace with your brother, and then come back and present your gift.” (Matthew 5:23-2 AMP) In all cases we are called to Bear (endure, carry) one another’s burdens and troublesome moral faults, and in this way fulfill and observe perfectly the law of Christ (the Messiah) and complete what is lacking [in your obedience to it].” (Galatians 6:2 AMP)
The ideal attitude that we can have at all times is a ready and willing 10-8. This shows that we have prepared ourselves for the work that God has for us. It also shows that we are willing for Him to interrupt us from our daily tasks. Our response to the voice of the Lord should be as Eli taught young Samuel,And the Lord came and stood and called as at other times, Samuel! Samuel! Then Samuel answered, Speak, Lord, for Your servant is listening.” (1 Samuel 3:10 AMP) Ready, willing and able is a 10-8 approach.
Life is busy for everyone. We can all find many things to occupy our time. Let’s be sure we keep aware of the most important things and respond accordingly to God.
Be ready for the Lord to speak to you today. How will you respond to His call? Will you be 10-6, 10-7, or10-8?

Acknowledged! (Living In 10 Codes 2)

One of the most commonly used 10 codes corresponds with this past Saturday’s date, 10–4. Dispatchers for security, transportation and other industries listen for a response of 10–4 to acknowledge that they have been heard and understood. Many believe that the code 10–4 means “yes” but “acknowledged” is the accurate translation.
Acknowledge, according to Merriam-Webster’s dictionary, carries several meanings. The first and primary listing is, “to recognize the rights, authority or status of…” Dispatchers have the authority to give directions because of the position that they occupy. When one hears and understands a transmission from the dispatcher, the directions should be carried out. When one contacts the dispatch center with information, the dispatcher will also acknowledge with the code 10–4. Both are acknowledging that they have not only heard the information transmitted but they are now performing the necessary actions that transmission requires.
“In all your ways know, recognize and acknowledge him and he will direct and make straight and plain your paths.” (Proverbs 3:6 AMP) This wise advice from King Solomon brings many benefits. Understanding the full meaning of acknowledge helps us to walk in the straight paths. When we acknowledge the Lord, we are recognizing His right, authority and status in our lives. We will automatically follow His directions immediately and without question. A response of “yes” is inferred in our acknowledgment of His voice. We are not to question or debate but simply obey. We realize that He sees and knows far more than we do of what lies ahead.
God’s status places Him far above us. “Know (perceive, recognize, and understand with approval) that the Lord is God! It is He Who has made us, not we ourselves [and we are His]! We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.” (Psalm 100:3 AMP) When we recognize God for who He is, we want to love and serve Him.  “ And you shall love the Lord your God out of and with your whole heart and out of and with all your soul (your life) and out of and with all your mind (with our faculty of thought and your moral understanding) and out of and with all your strength. This is the first and principal commandment.:” (Mark 12:30 AMP) To acknowledge God is to love Him with our whole being.
When we love God with our whole heart, we will follow His directions without argument or debate. “Judge not [neither pronouncing judgment nor subjecting to censure], and you will not be judged; do not condemn and pronounce guilty, and you will not be condemned and pronounced guilty; acquit and forgive and release (give up resentment, let it drop), and you will be acquitted and forgiven and released.”  (Luke 6:37 AMP) Sometimes the commands seem extremely difficult. We recognize His right to expect our obedience. God knows best and He will bless our efforts. Forgiveness, although not always be easy, will be offered freely when we acknowledge God. Be gentle and forbearing with one another and, if one has a difference (a grievance or complaint) against another, readily pardoning each other; even as the Lord has [freely] forgiven you, so must you also [forgive].(Colossians 3:13 Amp)
Recognizing the authority of Jesus Christ causes us to willingly and boldly carry out His plans. These plans include sharing the gospel with others. “Jesus approached and, breaking the silence, said to them, All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. Amen (so let it be).” (Matthew 28:18-20 AMP) We desire to bring about His will here in the earth and see others come to know Him.
The other definitions listed in Webster’s dictionary include to disclose knowledge or agreement with; to express gratitude or obligation for; and to recognize as genuine or valid.   All of these apply to our relationship with Jesus Christ. Truly acknowledging God in all of our ways causes us to agree with, be grateful to and share the truth about Him.
Acknowledge the Lord in all of you do from this day forward. When you hear His voice respond as the prophet Isaiah did, “…Here am I; send me.” (Isaiah 6:8 AMP) Then our “10-4” will always indicate “I have heard you, Lord, and I obey.”
